This mobile species is typical of habitats prone to dessication. It can be recognised by its pale colouration and bicoloured pterostigma. In northern Europe adults are on the wing from June to August. This is really a southern species which has increased dramatically in northern Europe since the mid-1990s. It was first recorded in Britain (Norfolk) in 2002, but does not appear to have established a breeding population here. Sightings
