(© David Hastings) (1/320th sec at f/11) DescriptionFamily: Crambidae (ABH : 63.079) Wing span: 24 - 30mm The fore-wing is whiteish-brown to pale sandy brown, with an obscure row of dark dots at two-thirds, some or all of which can be absent. It has long palps. It is found in England and Wales, but generally local. May be expanding its range. Habitats are broads, fens, marshes and other wet places. The flight period is from June to mid-September. Larvae feed on Bulrush, sometimes Lesser Bulrush. It comes to light. Earliest UK sighting: 25th June ; Latest UK sighting: 24th August Sightings
