Description

Family: Crambidae (ABH : 63.099)

Wing span: 20 - 26mm

The fore-wing is golden brown with a broad white median longitudinal streak, edged with reddish-brown and bisected by an oblique reddish-brown line, resulting in two broad white patches.

It can be found throughout the British Isles.

Habitats are heathland, marshes, waste ground, woodland rides and clearings.

The flight period is from June to September.

Larvae feed on Tufted Hair-grass, Hare's-tail Cottongrass, and probably other grasses and sedges.

It comes to light.
