Description

Family: Crambidae (ABH : 63.088)

Wing span: 22 - 28mm

The fore-wing is bright shining white or pale yellowish-white. A streaked form occurs in most populations, with the veins and ground colour of the fore-wing variably shaded dusky grey.

It can be found throughout the British Isles.

Habitats are grassy areas.

The flight period is from late May to September.

Larvae feed on grasses, possibly with a preference for coarser species.

It is easily disturbed by day, and comes to light.
