(© David Hastings) (1/250th sec at f/11) DescriptionFamily: Crambidae (ABH : 63.005) Wing span: 14 - 18mm Fore-wing mottled greyish-brown, brown or sandy brown, with two dots near the mid-wing. The female is smaller and darker. It is found throughout the British Isles. Habitats are grassland, heathland, sand dunes and vegetated shingle. It flies from late March to early October, in two broods. Larvae feed on plantains. It flies in sunshine and comes to light. Earliest UK sighting: 19th April ; Latest UK sighting: 2nd September Sightings
