It has a broad fore-wing with a very wavy outer edge. It is found in most of the British Isles, but is local in NW Scotland. Habitats are gardens, allotments and woodland, especially along stream sides. It overwinters as an egg on the food plant. The flight period is July and August. Larvae feed on Blackcurrants, Redcurrants and Gooseberries. Males rest with the end of their abdomen curled upwards. Earliest UK sighting: 28th June Sightings
