Description

Family: Geometridae (ABH : 70.011)

Wing span: 18 - 22mm

The diagnostic feature of this species is a darkening of the outer area towards the trailing corner of the rounded straw-white fore-wing.

It can be found in England, Wales, Ireland and southern Scotland.

Habitats are woodland, hedgerows, gardens, marshes, fens and other damp places.

There is one generation from June to August. It over-winters as a larva.

Larvae have been recorded on the flowers of Cow Parsley, Burnet-saxifrage and Hedge Bedstraw.

It visits flower from dusk, and comes to light.
