(© David Hastings) (1/400th sec at f11) DescriptionFamily: Noctuidae (ABH : 73.082) Wing span: 20 - 26mm This species varies from pale to dark green, with a broad, darker central band. Above and below this band it is yellowish or yellowish-green, resembling lichen. Originally an immigrant, since 2001 it has become established in south-east England and East Anglia, as far west as Oxfordshire. It is found in open habitats, including urban areas. There is one generation from mid-July to early September. The larva is the over-wintering stage. Larvae feed on lichen on trees, and probably other surfaces. It comes to light.
