Swifts (Apodidae)
Swifts are streamlined small to medium-sized birds with long, pointed, scythe-shaped wings. They are indefatigable fliers, spending almost their entire lives on the wing. They mainly feed on insects, and nest in cavities.
There are six species found in Europe, and one in the British Isles.
