It is green and yellow with a striking glossy black head with white cheeks, and a distinctive two-syllable song. It is found throughout the British Isles, with the exception of the northern and western Scottish islands. It breeds in woodlands, and also in parks and gardens. Great Tits can be quite aggressive at feeders, fighting off other tits. There are around 2.5 million territories in the UK.
