Click image for larger version. © David Hastings) Description L: 20 - 22 cm The Song Thrush has a brown back and is white or yellowish-white below, densely speckled with black spots. The sexes are similar. It can be found throughout the British Isles. Song Thrushes breed in lush woodlands, parks and well-vegetated gardens. Northern populations are migratory, wintering in western and southern Europe. The Song Thrush is a Red list species, because of a serious population decline, particularly on farmland. There are about 1.1 million breeding territories in the UK.
